For beginners students, I start with Trevor Wye's Beginners Book for Flute, as well as Rubank's selected duets (Volume 1), and Marcel Moyse The Debutante Flutist. Once we have covered the basic foundations of the flute and have formed a core sound, I then introduce solo repertoire that is appropriate for the students. I am a Latin Jazz vibraphonist and popular percussionist with a background in classical percussion. I also hold a degree from Berklee College of Music, where I have spent the last four years studying performance and production. Most recently I produced and lead a group based in New York and Boston. I performed in the Martinique Jazz and Ecuador Jazz festival I studied in a classical conservatory for 8 years and had the opportunity to assist to Interlochen Center for The arts and also studied cuban percussion in La Havana - Cuba at the age of 15. I have over 10 years of experience in my field and 5 years of teaching under my belt.  Growing up with my father as a music teacher and my Grandmother as a dance teacher, teaching came very naturally to me.  Having sung a variety of genres myself, I have always welcomed a wide variety of students.  I’ve taught many types of singers ranging from Jazz Vocalists to Rock, Country, Pop, etc. and as a result I’ve put together a method of teaching that can be applied to many styles of music.  I find teaching to be a very rewarding job and always welcome new students of all ages, levels, and genres.
