My teaching experience is not much. I had few students during my university period for about one year. Although a limited amount of time was put on teaching, I had wonderful experience with my piano teacher, Dr. Edvard Gregory Butler, who had already been teaching piano for over fifty years and truly altered my development. I had many incorrect way to practice, as well as many incorrect understanding, and he helped my to conquer those difficulties. Read More

I'm a student currently enrolled in Berklee College Of Music who has also been making a living as professionally touring musician in a few critically acclaimed projects, and have received tons of press for my work. There is nothing I love more than playing music and spreading the knowledge I have received from my experience on the road, and in the classroom to students everywhere. I've played bass, and guitar at such venues as Webster Hall in New York City, the Royale, Sinclair, and Middle East in Boston, and more! Read More

I strongly believe that everyone is very different. Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this. Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play. I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard. Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines. Read More

I started teaching music back in 2010 when a family at my local church asked if I would teach their son. I fell in love with teaching. It was another avenue to share the wonderful experience and gift of music. All of my students have been referred by other students or friends. I like to make lessons fun and interactive while sticking to the foundations. I have learned that it is important to have an individualized and customized approach to each student. Read More

I first started teaching trombone in High school to a student 3 years younger than I was. That was when I first realized how inspiring and important teaching really can be. I continued to teach into college to students around the area. From there I started to realize the more I taught, the better I played and the more I played, the better I taught. In addition, I was the trombone teacher at a Band camp in Sweden, Maine known as Camp Encore/Coda! Read More

For beginning students who are children, I like to start with Essential Elements and then progress to the Suzuki Method books. Later I might supplement this material with etudes and duets or pop song arrangements. For adults, I first determine their priorities and then focus my instruction on what will keep their lessons fun and engaging. Whether the student is interested in playing chamber music with friends, participating in a community orchestra, or just improving their skills so that they can experience the joy of making music, I am happy to tailor the lessons to meet their needs, Read More
