We will explore a variety of exercises that will help you understand the many sounds you can make using your voice. My background in classical piano gives me a strong foundation for successful piano education. I refer to the classic Russian method of piano technique and provide the student with confidence in sight reading as well as a strong understanding of music theory. My students have ranged from ages 5 to 65! I think focusing on the basics is very important, but I think it is equally important to engage the student. I always want to know what type of music the student is interested in so they can learn how to play it. Combining basics plus their own interests is something that is very important for me. As an educator, I have taught multi-level in-person and virtual music playing/appreciation courses for greater-New York-area based organizations such as the Afro-Latin Jazz Academy, the Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, New York Ensemble Classes, the Lyceum Kennedy International School, Jubilee Enrichment Programs, Jazz Empowers and the New York Jazz Academy. I've been playing/singing for 16 years, and done part of it as a job.
