Hi! My name is Megan, and I have a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Choral Conducting from Andrews University. Before that, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from Southern Adventist University. Performing has been a joy of mine, and I've had the opportunity to perform with some amazing groups, such as Andrews University Singers and Southern Adventist University's I Cantori. I began teaching five years ago with a diverse studio that covered everything from musical theatre to hip hop. I currently teach at a music studio here in Jacksonville, where I have a large studio of private students as well as group music classes for elementary and preschool aged children. I emphasize exploration and curiosity and encourage my students to explore multiple genres of music. i have been teaching for 55 yrs both privately and in teaching studios as well as in group settings . i have volunteered teaching classes at the ymca , the boys and girls clubs . continuing education at northern kentucky university . i have taught musicians on stage as we perform . i love to teach as well as i love to play live. i also teach music theory and composition. i teach all stringed instruments including piano and drums . i teach all instruments . even those that i do not actually play . sax flute trumpet etc. if you can play one instrument you can play them all once you know where the notes are . right ? lol . I have an extensive background in music education and have held various positions as church music director, organist, pianist, directed youth and adult choirs, and have helped home schooled students complete music and arts requirements.
