My teaching style can vary with each student each student has a different level of learning accessibility time restraints etc. One of the most important things I try to teach is the student to be his own teacher and whenever practicing whether it be 15 or 20 minutes when they are done with that practice session they have accomplished something some sort of improvement I have studied with teachers from the New York Philharmonic the metropolitan opera and the New York City ballet Orchestra they have all taught me and I pass on to the student to break down whatever they were playing and approach it in a patient manner by repeating and eventually getting their end result Whether it’s a few notes in a piece or a whole solo or exercise Read More

I find students are most successful when they set their own goals. I like to ask each new pupil what kind of music they like, what they want to learn, and what their expectations are before we start. I believe it's most important to tailor my lessons to the specific person. Although I believe there are a number of techniques every player needs to learn I believe there are a plenty of ways to approach these fundamentals. Read More
Instruments: Piano Harp
From the first lesson, its essential to develop the pupils ability to feel the expressiveness of music with his gradually developing. The basis of teaching piano to beginners is the education of the pupils artistic thought together with his emotional response to musical expressions. Working on music pieces, one-voice or complex ones, I train the students to listen attentively to the musical texture, to create an intelligent reproduction of contents, to feel deeply its musical character I provide stories and games for younger students and metaphors for adults in order to help them understand the meaning of music. Hi, my name is Matt and i love nature and logic. I believe in the healthy trumpet approach with the proper respiratory methods. I value and respect all schools of teaching although i revert to a more liberal way of learning where the student and the teacher can learn together. I have attended the philadelphia hs for creative and performing arts and now study at CCP in my 6th year for Music Education. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
For beginning students, I start with Essential Elements, or another comparable method if their band program uses another book. Once the student reaches middle school and has a good concept of fundamentals, we progress to the Himie Voxman Selected Studies and Duets books. For high school and advanced middle school students, I use the Baermann Division III book, the Klose Method, the Rose etudes for clarinet, as well as beginning to introduce appropriate solo repertoire. I began teaching during my undergraduate studies, initially starting out as a double major in performance and education. In a short time, I realized how deeply I loved working one on one with students, which led me to pursue performance full time and teach in my private studio. Once I moved to California, I began expanding my teaching to music schools (Yamaha) and have continued to work with students in a diverse array of settings (private studio, music schools, high schools, university). My teaching style is fully interactive. As a teacher of both music and computers, I was never a dictatorial teacher. Other teachers, even young ones, that everyone was up and around. Talking to each other. Some listening to music. Whatever style fits the learner. You cannot "cheat" in music performance. Either you can do it or you cannot. Everyone does not learn the same way, so everyone should not be taught the same way. Read More
