I am a passionate and motivated performer and teacher in the Phoenix area. I am currently the adjunct oboe instructor at Paradise Valley Community College, and perform regularly with the Symphony of the Southwest, West Valley Symphony, and Prescott Pops Symphony. I received my Bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from Eastern Illinois University and my Master’s degree in oboe performance from Northern Illinois University. After all music is fun and infinitely creative so while implementing these fundamentals we will tackle any project, song or technique the student would like to learn until the next lesson. - For intermediate students we will be playing advanced poly-rhythms together at the start of every lesson then trade fours in different time signatures until we feel warmed up. For piano students who have already been playing and/or taking lessons, I usually start from where they left off with their former teacher. I then gently guide them to the Faber books or continue using the series they're comfortable with, depending on the needs of the student.
