I tend to use the Faber Piano Adventure series as the basis for starting lessons. This series is very widely known and it is really one of the best methods available for teachers to use. I like it because two people are the authors and composers, a husband a wife team, and together they create interesting and enjoyable compositions that students of all ages like to play. They provide a wide variety of types of music from classical to blues to jazz and brance out into Christmas and Disney songs, all in different levels, so students can have a consistent series to grow and to never get bored! My students learn songs both by ear and by reading music. I teach all styles of music and incorporate both classical and modern repertoire into the lessons. Instruments: Flute Piccolo
My teaching style is dynamic, grounded in known pedagogical methods, and tailored to every student's individual goals. My students have achieved many honors, including 'Superior' ratings at solo and ensemble festivals. I also believe while hard work and discipline are imperative to success, a young musician must also learn the skills of patience and self-compassion. Music is a wonderful way to learn self-discipline and self-motivation, and students can practice extending kindness to themselves and others as they go on this journey. Read More

I am a motivated instructor and clinician who loves sharing musical experiences with my students. I started playing percussion at the age of four and began formal training by the age of seven. Throughout middle school and high school, I branched out musically and played low brass, guitar, and bass guitar to become a more well-rounded musician. In order to diversify my musical palette, I attended three universities between 2007-2012 for music education, composition, and performance. Read More
Instruments: Drums
For beginning students who are children, I typically like to start with rudiments and technique studies. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will introduce the Moeller method. Later will move to the drumset and apply all 3 methods and became to develop what I like to call he groove and bass excises and different warm ups. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

My teaching style is student oriented meaning the more questions you bring me the better. I will allow students to learn at their own pace. For younger students I allow them to explor the instrument while showing them how to hold it and play. For older students I teach simple songs as well as scales and arpeggios. I tell students that if they only have 5 minutes a day, they should at least play scales. Read More
