Active, engaging, and of course, fun! I try to be as thorough as possible without overloading my student with information. The biggest challenge in the beginning is learning about you as a student and how you learn. Obviously learning an instrument is very aurally challenging, however there many ways of learning: aural, visual, tactile, etc. The more you know about your own preferred learning style, the more smoothly our lessons will start out. This calling demands love and imagination, where the teacher and the student are invited on an adventure where we both strive to leave each lesson asking ourselves how the next might be better and how to better engage ourselves in our unique goals. My teaching style is very flexible in that all students are different, and learn in different ways. Ive taught really young kids and Ive also taught seniors. I find it fun meeting new challenges and seeing what new musical abilities I am capable of. I teach music theory, piano, drums, guitar, bass, and voice. Read More

All ages, styles, and expereince levels are welcome. For reading, I like to use a combination of notation, tabs and chord diagrams. And while I dont absolutely insist that the student learn to read notation, I do strongly encourage it. Read More
