I have been teaching private lessons for about 2 years, both for a company and privately. These lessons include beginner piano, voice, and violin. In my music therapy internship I have also had the experience of teaching adaptive piano, guitar, and ukulele lessons. I'm an experienced guitarist and bassist hoping to share my love for these instruments. In May 2023, I graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. During my time at Northeastern, I played guitar in a band called DeckParty with two friends from high school and collaborated with a variety of different artists, playing guitar on over 30 songs that have been released on Spotify. I try to tailor lesson plans to each individual as I believe different people want to get different things out of singing. For younger students, I will focus on the fundamentals of music such as pitch recognition, rhythmic accuracy, scale execution. These building blocks can help children confidently express themselves in music. I believe there is no "cookie cutter" method to teaching so I tailor my lessons specifically to each of my students. I have found that having a strong foundation in classical music sets the tone for musical excellence for all styles, regardless of age or musical maturity. From that perspective I like to start all of my students on The Arban's and Herbert L. Clarke Method books for trumpet. As we progress, I will add other method books/repertoire that emphasize what the student wants to learn or to highlight an area the student or I think could use improvement. Read More
