It all started when I took my first drum lesson in the 4th grade. From then on, I wanted to play whenever I could. I played in all my school bands from middle school to high school. Graduated Southern University, home of the world famous "Human Jukebox" which I was a member of for 3 years, as well as playing for my church since I was 13. For beginning students who are children, I typically prefer the Faber Piano Adventure Series. Written by a couple who are educated both in music as well as child development, I believe that this is a great mix of developmentally appropriate pacing and fun. For adults, I try to focus on personal goals as well as music reading background, while I'm happy to recommend a method book (such as Alfred's great Adult Piano series). Read More
