Hi, my name is Caroline, and I began playing at the age of 3, formal training at age 5, studying with professional pianists all the way through college. I am classically trained, and studied classical piano as well as Jazz in college and beyond. I enjoy learning and teaching all types of music, including composition and improvisation. Integrating the principles of moving the wrist, arm, and elbow fluidly ahead of the hand to produce even tone and clear voicing, has helped my students overcome technical challenges with greater ease. Though I went on to pursue other studies, music has remained both a leading player in my life and the field in which I have the most raw talent and experience. Since then I have performed in several groups and as a solo act. I played fiddle for the Galveston based folk band "The Grog". I was the resident church pianist for Christ Presbyterian Church in Daphne, AL, as well as the Keyboardist and backup singer for the Daphne based classic rock band "Mid Life Crisis" for three years. I do not pressure students to enter competitions and recitals are optional unless 10 or more students are willing to participate. I do encourage students to look for opportunity to play/sing in their school/church or in front of their friends/family for special occasions.
