I teach all styles of music, sight-reading, music theory and ear training. I focus on nurturing a students natural curiosity, while helping them find the tools to pursue their own musical interests. Many of my younger students prefer to use technology to connect with music (learning how songs are recorded, and the theory behind songwriting), but I also work with more serious students to prepare for college auditions, state/regional jazz band, etc. My methods differ depending on a student's own goals, but they generally all will start with a technical exercise, an exercise designed to get the student thinking critically, and an application of the concepts we're learning. I make sure the music is appropiate for the age and level of each student. It gives you better vocal control, larger ranges, and overall finesse. Through both my teachers I also learned a lot about different techniques on piano. For most piano students I start them off with 'An All In One Beginner Piano Course' with Andrew Fling. This introduces the piano in such an interesting way and has students advancing in only a few short lessons. My instruction for a beginner student is for them to learn the fundamentals of identifying what the piano keys are called, how to identify the notes on the piano sheet music, placement of fingers and that each finger is assigned a number, the aspects involving music theory, i.e. different names of notes, the grand staff, scale development, key signatures and time signatures, etc., and perhaps learning the fundamentals of music composition. During my years in Poland I was acclaimed for my exceptional way of interpreting the romantic composers and specially the music of Frederic Chopin. I performed concerts throughout Poland and Germany, most importantly at the Chopin’s Birth Place in Zelazowa Wola, under Chopin’s Monument in Wlazieki Park, The Ostrogski Palace and The Grand Theater in Warsaw.
