I began teaching starting in my undergrad, where I would teach weekly one-on-one, or group lessons to trumpet players in rural Indiana. Here, I found that I had a deep passion for teaching music, and that I would want to pursue it more. Now, as I'm pursuing my Master's Degree at the Manhattan School of Music, I am teaching young students privately, as well as in group lessons. Since I have been playing piano at age 5, I have performed Kabalevsky’s Piano Conerto No. 3 in D Major with Yuba Shuttle Orchestra in California. For beginning students I use graded methods such as Schultz Piano Course or Alfred Basic Piano to enable students to play a song from the very first lesson.  These graded methods introduce basic note reading, the layout of the piano keys, and proper posture and hand positioning, allowing students to progress gradually and systematically to more advanced music.  Interests and skill levels of older beginners and intermediate students are assessed individually, and a plan of study is tailored for them.
