For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. A Texas native, Clynt grew up exposed to a variety of music. The southern influence of blues, gospel, country, and jazz were a huge part of his musical upbringing. The most important thing is that my students enjoy our lesson time together and progress at a pace that is comfortable and encouraging for them. I believe that if the material is too easy and there is no challenge then the students will lose interest. I have experience teaching all ages and levels. I have taught since I was a teenager and have taken piano pedagogy classes at the Manhattan School of Music. I have also attended the World Piano Pedagogy Conference. Im a member of the Music Teachers National Association and Piano Technicians Guild. I have years of performing and teaching.
