I am a graduate of Lawrence University with a BA in Music (Piano) and German. I've played piano for almost 20 years, but in college performed more with voice. In college as a BA candidate I was able to take a variety of lessons, including classical piano (my major), jazz piano, classical voice, and jazz voice. I realize that each student is a unique individual with different learning preferences. With each student, I design a different approach that caters to the student's needs. I have used a variety of teaching books and methods, and will generally try to contour my methods to the needs of students while also keeping costs low. The first time I began teaching music was shortly after graduating high school, and asking local band directors to get some experience with their summer band, and marching band programs.
