I tend to be a teacher on a stricter side as that is how my music teachers were back in Europe. I find this style to be working with my students as they do accomplish their goals and win various competitions. Depending on the age and students goals (professional musician or just playing for fun) I adjust my style accordingly. Even if the student only wants to play for their own enjoyment I still find a way to make the material challenging for them to improve their skills, technique, musicianship, and thus make it worth their while. I graduated from Temple University in 2011 with my Bachelor's degree in Music Education. I was a saxophone major, but I have also studied piano since the age of three. I enjoy performing in musical pits, which is where I picked up the flute and the clarinet. I am currently a choral teacher at the high school level, but I have previously taught in a K-8 school, as well as several years in a daycare setting with very young students. Read More

I am dedicated, persistent, and reliable. I am willing to learn and keep learning for the advancement of myself and my students. A well-rounded appreciation for music as well as critical listening and ear-training skills will be taught. I also maintain a pretty fast paced lesson, enabling the student to have plenty of practice material, technique studies, and goals to meet. I will record the student's progress electronically so that the student may better understand and learn from their lessons. I will inspire my student’s, positively influencing and encouraging them along our journey of musical discovery. Read More

I had my first teaching experience working with elementary students as a private instructor during my senior year of high school. I continued to work with beginning and intermediate students throughout college teaching everything from beginning instruction to jazz improvisation. I am currently a band, strings and vocal music teacher in the Phoenix area where I rehease several groups and give lessons daily. my current students experience everything from classical to pop music and are encouraged to be as creative as possible. For younger students who are in a school band program, I like to use the materials they use in class and to add outside material they find interesting. I find students are more motivated to practice and develop when we start with something that interests them, and then to expose them to other styles of music later on. For older or more advanced students, I like to focus on aspects of musicianship that will help them be successful musicians, such as ear-training, theory, composition, performance practice, improvisation (if the student wishes) and transcribing. I believe that my students should have high expectations and have fun while completing goals. I make sure lessons are fun and progressive. I hold my students to high expectations so when they meet their goal they actually kill two birds with one stone (ex: figuring out a difficult passage in school music while progressing in technique exercises). I give students accompanying assignments to be supplemental to what they have in technique or to help with school music. Read More
