I am a passionate trumpet player, composer, and teacher. Having just moved back to the Bay Area, I am excited to share everything that I have learned with my students! In 2018, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies. I have performed at notable venues such as the Blue Whale in Los Angeles, Yoshi's in Oakland, and The SFJAZZ Center. I start lessons by warming up and doing exercises. For children, I do this in a listen and response setting. Then I will work through school songs or performance pieces, focusing on rhythms first, notes second and musicallity third. These 3 aspects lead to musicial mastery. We look at things like reading, theory, dexterity on the instrument. If the student plays a wind instrument we look at things like embouchure and breathing. Though I stopped for some time to pursue artistic and professional ventures in music, I recently returned to the teaching realm, and am exciting to take on new students.
