My methods vary between each student. For beginning students, that are not learning in a school setting, I typlically start with Hal Lenard's Essential Elements For Band. Once the student had progressed, I will start to introduce solo repetoire that the student will be instested in, which could be pop tunes or other type of music. I am a musician, composer, arranger, and educator originally from Waukesha, Wisconsin. I attended the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami from 2012-2016 and obtained a bachelor's degree in Studio Music and Jazz Instrumental on trumpet. I moved to New York and received a masters degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in 2018. I had a private studio in Denver and again in Cleveland, where I was before relocating to DC. In Cleveland I taught full-time and ended up with over fifty private students.
