Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone French Horn Tuba

I am a trumpet player, composer and educator. I grew up in Florence, Italy and moved to Boston, MA in 2012 where I attended Berklee College of Music for my undergraduate and graduate studies. I believe that music is a great tool for communicating to each other even past language and cultural barrier. My goal as teacher is to enable each students personal talent and guide them through knowing an instrument so that they can access that communication and the endless possibilities that come with it. Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Saxophone Clarinet Drums Synthesizer Conga Latin Percussion Music Keyboard

I enjoy hearing the students natural abilities, understanding what kind of music pours out of them, acknowledge that, and from there we develop it. At the same time, direct the student with technique, theory and any other tools that will facilitate the music they are passionate about. Give the students homework, let them know that there is always another step, to lead by example!  As a trumpet player it is very important to establish a healthy routine that will build your tone, endurance that in the end you understand enough so you can teach and always evaluate yourself. My private teaching experience began during my latter years in high school working with beginners. During college, I had a few high school students that I taught when they were preparing for auditions. I believe that students should enjoy what they're doing to keep interest levels high, so I encourage them to select appropriate music they will enjoy studying along with the material that is necessary for technique and development. Through my continued studies in music, and many other fields, my ability to relate to all people, including students continues to grow. I am able to quickly assess what kind of approach is appropriate for a group or an individual, and I have experience implementing practices that directly improve learning ability, interest in and comprehension of material. I understand the importance of time management, creative thinking, attention to detail and the ability to make something difficult seem fun and worthwhile. Read More

Instruments: Piano Trumpet Saxophone Flute Clarinet Drums

My teaching includes all aspects of music; Musical theory, sight singing, as well as Music History. My teaching style allows the child to have fun while they learn their instrument, but I emphasize a strong practice regiment. Your child will understand that while learning music and an instrument can be fun, there will be some work involved if they want to become great. I usually use either the Alfred or Rubank method books to supplement a curriculum that I tailor make for each individual student. Read More

I find immense joy in seeing a student discover something new about their instrument. As someone who has taught people with all sorts of learning capacities, I've found that there is no one who can't be motivated through proper goal-setting and progression marking. As part of this, I always recommend a student records their lessons so they can have a consistent marker to show how far they've come. I am a huge believer in teaching and learning with a growth mindset. Read More

For beginning woodwind students, I have had success using the Rubank method books as a starter. Alongside a method book, I like to work on material chosen by the student, as well as my own supplemntal exercises. It is important for the student to understand the musical concepts associated with the repertoire, as well as focusing on performing well. I also prefer to have my students keep a practice log book, in order to track their progress. For piano and music theory, I like to use the John Thompson method for beginner students, and the Bastien Piano Literature series for more advanced students.
