For children, I will continue through the method book series while supplementing it with short popular pieces that may be of interest to the student. I like teaching and performing music. There is nothing better than when I learn to play the piece well. Also-when I teach the beginning student-it is great to see how that student develops his/her playing over the days/weeks/months. It is good to have constant attention of the teacher because of learning to play the pieces in correct way is very important. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and want to continue to play the violin not just as a hobby! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and knowing the strength behind private lessons as opposed to group lessons only.
