However, if a student is using a different book with their school music teacher, I always try to incorporate that book in my student's private lessons. In addition, I ask students what they are interested in playing, to give the student a sense of ownership and signifigance in their progress. I try to cater to the each student's particular needs. For beginning students that are children I typically start with the Essential Elements Strings Book 1 in combination with Suzuki first book. As every student progresses at a different pace, I adjust my teaching curriculum accordingly. Having that in mind, I decide on the next step, usually some solo repertoire, as well as some more etudes and scales.  For adults, I tend to go with what they are particularly interested in, as well as incorporating learning basic music reading and playing skills. At the age of 15, I was offered scholarship by the British Government's Music and Dance Scheme to study at a music high school, the Purcell School of Music in the UK with Berent Korfker, who was also a professor at Royal College of Music. After spending 5 years at Berlin University of the Arts (one of Europe’s most premier classical music & arts conservatories) earning my Bachelor of Music degree under Latica Honda-Rosenberg, I received full scholarship to study at the Yale School of Music with Hyo Kang. I was concertmaster of the Salem Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and was also concertmaster of the Gordon Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, I was a guest soloist at the Salem Philharmonic Orchestra’s winter concert series, where I performed Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole under the baton of conductor and beloved teacher, Alan Hawryluk.
