Soon after graduation, I was a full-time musician giving freelance voice lessons, and also teaching jazz voice while an artist in residency at Duke Ellington. During my time at Duke, I continued to perform and record around Washington, DC. I took guitar lessons at age thirteen to expand my musical experience, and while I loved playing classical piano I wanted to be in bands and play rock n' roll.
