As mentioned, I began teaching in my teenage years and to this day, it is one of my greatest passions. Equipping someone with new ways to express their love for music and emotions inside is absolutely thrilling to me! While i have mostly taught private lessons, I have also taught for a couple different music companies as well and had great success with my students! I find it very easy to “find the connection” right off the back with my students and they seem to respond very well to my personality and teaching styles. Read More

My work teaching drum set began at age 16 with a position at The Blue Ridge Studio for the Performing Arts in Berryville,VA as well as teaching out of my home. Once I moved to Denton to attend the University of North Texas, I began teaching piano, drum set and guitar for the companies Taylor Robinson Music based out of Dallas and Hall Music Productions in Southlake,TX. In 2011 I moved to Austin where I started teaching various in-home lessons for families. Read More

I never assume a student cannot succeed. Progress comes quickly with a variety of songs supported by successive exercises and methodology. Parental involvement is highly recommended and I try to work with parents to determine motivational techniques. I have found that students need a regular practice time 4 to 5 times a week, even if it is only a few minutes at a time; but, hopefully, we can find music that they like to sit down and play. Instruments: Piano Voice

Working with many different teachers and many different musical genres has enabled him to personalize his lessons to the musical interests of each student. As a teacher, his use of exercises backed by scientific research coupled with an emphasis on increasing confidence and freedom in singing has helped his students achieve results in real time. For Chris, seeing his students gain access to new opportunities, learn step-by-step how to drop unhelpful habits and become skilled at balancing consistent practice with creative thinking are all part of what makes him so wholeheartedly engaged in teaching the art of singing. For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance. For intermediate and advanced students, I like to see what they are interested in to see how I can teach them, and be able to keep them more engaged. Read More

Witnessing the musical and personal growth in a student is endlessly rewarding! My approach to teaching is to give my students clear and obtainable goals at each lesson, so that they will have the tools they need to succeed. I also strive to discern the specific learning style of my students so that I may cater the lessons specifically to the individual. I am always so thrilled to be able to introduce students to a song/genre/composer that they are really excited about! Read More

Instruments: Voice

My approach to teaching emphasizes the importance of patience and forming building blocks that will take the student to where they want to go, over time. I like to encourage my students by focusing on small victories that happen in each lesson so that they are inspired to accomplish more and more as our lessons continue. I have a friendly, no-pressure approach to teaching and I want my students to feel as comfortable as possible not only to be amazing singers and performers, but to also be equipped accordingly to handle snags or setbacks that may happen along the way. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
