Since I was 13 I started singing and playing guitar. At 16 I started doing it professionally and managed to take my art to a large part of my country (Venezuela) and several Latin American countries. I was born in Cuba and began my musical studies at the age of 7 in vocational schools of music. I studied for 15 years in the specialties of piano, voice and music theory. For many years, I dedicated myself to singing and playing piano in various musical groups in Cuba, while studying piano and voice at the University and taking my degree in Musicology. I do not pressure students to enter competitions and recitals are optional unless 10 or more students are willing to participate. I do encourage students to look for opportunity to play/sing in their school/church or in front of their friends/family for special occasions. Game playing is incorporated within the lesson time to reinforce/review key concepts/skills or knowledge for group lesson setting of 2-3 students as an additional feature. Read More

I have been instructing students in voice for a year now. I have worked with kids as young as 6 years old to high school level. I encourage consistent and regular practice, but also breaks and time to ask questions if one is stuck and not sure what to do. I mainly use classical style techniques and songs to build strong vocal instruments, but I also reference and use genres that individual students prefer to sing to keep their interest and build their love for singing.
