I am deeply committed to continuing education and growth as a voice professional. I actively seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills, attending workshops, conferences, and masterclasses to stay abreast of current trends and techniques in vocal pedagogy. By staying engaged in the broader vocal community, I ensure that my teaching remains dynamic, informed, and relevant. Beyond technical proficiency, I emphasize the importance of fostering a holistic approach to vocal training that includes mindfulness, vocal health, and performance psychology. Read More

Teaching Voice is 90% being a cheerleader and the other 10% technique. Voice is so mental because the instrument is apart of us. This fact is why I love teaching voice so much. I love cheering my students on to first find their natural talent, and then polish their talent with different technique and methods. I also realize that there are many different styles of music, and I would never hinder my students from pursuing whatever style is their passion. Read More

My teaching experience dates back about 20 years. Since then, I’ve taught many levels and many instruments. I’ve taught students ranging from 18 months to 81 years old. I’ve taught many styles;including jazz, pop, and rock. I’ve had students to make videos and win several competitions. My favorite genre to teach is classical. With classical, you can pull all of the other genres out of it. When you learn classical first, everything else seems to fall into place. Read More

My teaching style is relaxed and encouraging. I find students typically do best in an environment where they feel comfortable and safe. I like to get to know each student's individual learning style and goals and then construct my lessons based on that. I enjoy every level of instruction, from playing early music reading games with 3 year olds, to helping high school students prepare for college music auditions, to helping adults become more confident at karaoke night. ..................................... I believe we are most productive when we keep a positive mindset.  I try to let encouragement be the foundation of my teaching.  I truly want you to reach your highest singing potential, which will happen with consistent practice. Each lesson will consist of vocal exercises which should be recorded so that the student can practice with it throughout the week.  And then we will work together to choose songs that will help reinforce your new, healthy technique. My main goal and teaching is to inspire self motivation and make it fun! I like to pick songs that are fun to play and challenging at the same time depending on what level you are at that time. By doing this I think keeping the instrument out and not in the closet is a good start that way if the inspiration hits you and you want to play it is within your reach "guitar stand and wall hangers are ideal" and not in the case the put away " Out of sight out of mind" I suggest buying a music stand for your instruments and or wall hangers which seem to work very well as a display and also so the instrument is within your reach. Lastly, support and accountability are also integral parts of my teaching style. Even in individual lessons, I foster a supportive environment, offering resources like mp3 practice tracks, youtube videos, and other homework to keep students engaged and track their progress. I also provide regular feedback and encouragement to ensure continuous improvement. Lastly, I do weekly and multiple times a week check-in's with my students to encouragement and ensure they feel supported to continue making progress. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
