My teaching started in my undergrad, about 5 years ago when I was required to take a Vocal Pedagogy class as part of my major. From there I fell in love with teaching. I was able to expand on my love as a substitute teacher at Rabun Gap Academy in Rabun Gap Georgia in 2012. There I taught five girls ranging from 8-15. I am very big on learning by ear because it is the way I learned music most of my life. Next, doing exercises together to learn diaphragm breathing and see the joy as they realize they can make a lovely vocal sound. My methods of teaching vary depending on how old my student is and their current level. For example, with a young beginner I will start off by teaching them the scale. For me, nothing is more rewarding, than to see my students follow and pursue their dreams. I believe that all students are able to carry their dreams out to the fullest as long as they put a little hard work and dedication. I enjoy bringing this to the classroom because it shows my students they are able to do anything that they put their heart and soul into. I encourage my students to work on their own pace by practicing as often as possible, while still challenging my student as much as possible. Read More

I have been teaching for 5 years, ever since of friend of mine asked for some lessons to help him get back to singing. I loved the direct connection to this very personal aspect of peoples' lives, and I felt humbled by the trust I was given. I gained experience by doing, asking questions, and really listening to the needs of my students.
