I have a Master of Music degree from Georgia State University with an emphasis in Vocal Performance/Opera Studies. I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Vocal Performance emphasis) from Tougaloo College. My training is in Musical Theatre, and that is my expertise, however I believe that any strong singer must start with proper technique and familiarity with his/her own unique intstrument. During this course, I was required to take on a few vocal students and I still have those same students till this day. I allow my students to take the lead in lessons, and help guide them to achieve their musical goals. I work with children and adults, and lessons are always fun and enlightening! I began teaching at Derby Yamaha Music School, UK, coaching classes and private lessons for voice and piano. After leaving England, I began teaching at Pladd Dot Music, Statesboro. Here, I taught many students both voice and piano. Two in particular required coaching in their respective pageant and regional championship. Working together on technique etc, the students gained the title of Miss Hummingbird, as well as qualification to Miss Georgia, and qualification to regional championship this summer (2016).
