Instruments: Voice
I tailor my coaching approach to my student's needs. If the focus is on exams and recitals, I use Berklee and Tring Syllabus. I do focus more on skills: developing the Voice (developing a belted voice, head voice, or whatever is needed) and Performance, unless Music theory is requested. I start my students with standard songs, classical, Broadway, (unless a specific genre is requested) but expose my students to different genres and help them find the strength and uniqueness of their own voice. I am Highly motivated, honest, confident and hardworking leader, keep attention to details. I love to work with students and share my love of music and my experience with them. I like to help them to learn music and to grow like musicians. I got music aducation in Ukraine as a classical and opera singer and as a conductor of choir and orchestra. My music studies began at the age of five, and I have been playing the violin and viola for over twenty years now. I have about ten years of voice instruction, piano lessons, and guitar experience. My teaching experience dates back to high school beginning with only a small number of students, and have continued to teach lessons for eleven years. I developed my own studio in college throughout my studies at DePauw University, including holding biannual recital events to encourage and showcase my students abilities. Read More

I try to meet every student at their level. I mold my lessons to the student's aspirations and goals. If a student is only taking lessons for fun, then the repertoire we choose can be very flexible. If they are trying to get into college or to audition for a program, we will choose repertoire together that is appropriate and puts them in the best light. I will push a student proportionally to how hard they work. Read More

As I previously mentioned, I try my best to keep lessons as fun and engaging as possible, because I feel that creative enjoyment is a very important motivator in this field. That being said, I do encourage and appreciate a consistent practice schedule so that my students may advance at an appropriate pace. I also believe that acknowledging when a student has succeeded and lauding them appropriately for their hard work is a very valuable facet in creating intrinsic motivation. Read More

I believe in a holistic approach to music education, starting with the foundational elements that ensure long-term success. I use the Faber Piano Adventures series, which I myself learned from as a young pianist, to ensure the proper learning of fundamentals. From the beginning, I incorporate music theory and aural skills/ear training to foster a comprehensive understanding of music. Repertoire is carefully assigned according to the student's level, with pieces becoming progressively more advanced at the appropriate times. Read More
