I was born into a family full of musicians and I was thought how important and helpful it is to learn an instrument for anyone not only professionals. At 12 years old I started performing and at 14 I started teaching thanks to my dad (drum instructor) who introduced me to the amazing experiences of sharing knowledge about music. Since then I haven't stoped teaching and searching for information to share with anyone interested. Read More

I teach basic stick technique using George Lawrence Stone's Stick Control, and I have numerous hand exercises based on patterns from that book that I warm up with every lesson. Starting with snare drum and basic hand technique also will incorporate rhythm reading, and basic limb independence. When my students start behind the kit, they will start by applying some of those hand exercises to the drumset, and also learn how to orchestrate and play basic grooves. Read More

I strive for the right balance between enjoyment and progress. I believe, especially for beginners and younger students, a good atmosphere is the most important thing; I want them to have a good impression of music and the instrument. I listen to the student and try to learn who they are and how they learn best first and foremost, then I use my knowledge to guide them down a path of learning that is most natural. Read More

I started studying and playing drum set when I was 12, helped form and perform with a swing dance band as a teenager, and went on to study as an adult with Charlie Tappan, who worked with the legendary drum teacher Henry Adler. Through the course of my career I have performed in just about every style of music. I have played in parades and processions, local childrens' theatre and school musicals, club dates, concerts, recording, and dances. Read More

For beginning students we usually start with sitting at 2 drum sets and learning to hold the sticks. It's then about trying to get the sticks to strike the drum and practice getting a nice sound on the instrument. Even at a young age, it's important to help the students to think about tone and how we are creating sound on these instruments. I use the same technique on the vibes, learning to hold 2 or 4 mallets and just creating simple sounds. Read More

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
