My extensive background in performance of Rock, Country, Jazz, Funk, etc. provides the flexibility to focus on each students particular area of interest. I got my start playing at local clubs in Minneapolis under the mentorship of the top musicians in the Twin Cities . I was admitted to the Bienen school of music at Northwestern University to pursue a jazz performance degree under the guidance of world-acclaimed musicians. I am a long-time musician and educator; I have been doing both professionally since I was sixteen-years-old. My first student was my band director's son. My first gig was with a polka band. I now have a masters degree in ethnomusicology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a masters degree in music performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee along with a certificate of advanced study in chamber music.
