I began teaching as soon as I could. My dad held piano lessons out of our house and inspired me to teach guitar (the only instrument my dad wasn't terribly good at). I also taught trumpet, French horn and piano throughout high school. I teach students how to play, as well as, read music.  I teach a variety of techniques and styles of music using books and making up lessons for my students.  I teach my students at any age how to play the set, along with snare drum techniques, and play with songs. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Vic Firth books. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce more complicated styles and techniques that are appropriate for their ability. Read More

I taught my first lesson in Sudbury Massachusetts 19 years ago. I spent 16 years, teaching people of all ages seven days a week. Being able to teach music is a gift. I feel very fortunate. It’s some of the most rewarding work I could ever do. Over the years I’ve learned that recitals on a regular basis are crucial to a students progression. While in highschool, I started my teaching career by working in an after-school program teaching elementary and middle school students to help them hone their skills to perform in the school bands. Shortly after highschool, I started working as an instructor at the Pepperell Music Center teaching Drums and Guitar, as well as taking on private students at home.
