    I have now been giving private lessons for around 8 years and enjoy it very much. I love to help people grow and watch them enjoy the gift they have. In my lessons, students learn techniques, concepts, musicianship, rudiments/fundamentals, and much more. I resigned from a job in 2015 to pursue my music career which includes teaching drums. In 2006, I accepted a position with The Van-Dells and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. After returning in 2007, having received my Journeyman and Professional certificates in percussion, I was hired on in 2007 as a classroom drummer, teaching assistant, and LPW (Live Playing Workshop) instructor, all the while playing gigs with local bands and working doing recording sessions. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements book, as well a basic understanding of music. Once the student has progressed to have a nice grasp of the fundamentals of music, I usually begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. When I'm not performing, I keeps himself busy with his teaching schedule by teaching throughout Orange and LA County. As of this updated bio due to COVID-19 (Nov. 2020), I have been doing a hybrid format of teaching, primarily through Zoom with some in person instruction while maintaining orders of social distancing and wearing masks.
