My teaching experience started in 2011 where I started working for a private lesson music studio. There I taught students ranging from the ages 5-60 and taught piano and guitar. I also worked part-time as a music theory and keyboard tutor at a Community College. I met weekly with students who were struggling with these subjects. It was a great a experience and I also got to work on brushing up my theory. Read More

I started out as a percussionist, studying throughout high school and in to college at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. During my time in Boston, I discovered a bustling bluegrass music scene and my focus switched to stringed instruments, namely the mandolin and the violin. Since College, I have been using all veins of traditional music to join in and build communities of artists. I'm very well connected in the New York City Bluegrass, Irish, and Jazz scenes. Read More

My teaching style is light and fun and geared to the temperament of the child and the specific goals of the parent. My methods are traditional pedagogy. With younger students under the age of 5 and special needs students I make use of tactical manipulatives for example play doh to assist with fine motor skills. I also incorporate if needed coloring full body movement etc if needed. I try to set realistic goals with both the student and parent bringing various rewards and incentives for achievement.. I have taught music since 1994, when I was in college. What was at first a part time job blossomed into a full time job when local music stores and luthiers began recommending me. I have a strong roster of about 30 students, and maintain it mostly through word of mouth and recommendations. I teach out of my private studio, as well as people's homes. I have trained students for recitals, recording, various types of bands, and competitions. Read More

With these experiences I have become well versed in several styles including Jazz, Latin, Rock , and Pop music. In my teaching approach, I enjoy sharing what I've learned out in the world with my students, since I bring a large pallet of music to my lessons. Read More
