As a teacher I constantly monitor things like student posture, fingering, phrasing, dynamics etc.. I choose to work on one aspect of the myriad of struggles wisely. I allow ample time to discuss the emotional responses (both positive and negative) the student is having to a piece. The student must learn to become self-aware in terms of their own emotive response. When I can relate harmonically to the fact that a student is responding to certain chord progressions or certain harmonic style I then make a point of going over these one by one; going over each in different keys if necessary. I began to assist to my percussion at the age of 16. First just as a helper, then my teacher began to transfer me some of his students. I have taught classical percussion rudiments on the snare drum and keyboard instruments as well as drum set. I am more passionate about teaching cajon and bongos because I get to teach the music I grew up listening to. I like to take a holistic approach in teaching beginners by incorporating Technique, Ear Training, Music Theory, and Improvisation right from the start. This allows the student to quickly be able to learn songs by ear and write their own music. For more advanced and older students, I prefer to see where they are in their first lesson and hear what their goals are. I am a classical violinist with a very deep passion for classical music. I did my Bachelor's from 2016 to 2020 in Music Performance at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey ad I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in music, also at the Mason Gross School of the Arts. Performing is a very strong passion of mine and I am glad I had the opportunity to perform in Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, as well as several music festivals such as the Killington Music Festival in Vermont, the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina, and the Summit International Music Festival in New York.
