I believe there is no "cookie cutter" method to teaching so I tailor my lessons specifically to each of my students. I have found that having a strong foundation in classical music sets the tone for musical excellence for all styles, regardless of age or musical maturity. Every student works at their own pace and I allow for a lot of flexibility in my lessons. However, once the student has communicated their long term goals for the guitar, realistic goals are set between each lesson. I assign projects to work on between each lessons usually a mix of technical practice, such as left hand and right hand techniques, and musical works the student is interested in. I then went off to junior college where I studied voice, piano performance, and vocal jazz. In 2002 I won prizes in the international piano competitions in Ukraine , earned Third Prize at the International Competitions in Memory of E. Gilels, First Prize at the International Competition in Memory of Prokofiev, and Second Prize at the International Competition in Memory of A. Karamanov. In 2008, I continued winning competitions: I won First Prize in the “Music World” International Competition in Italy. For young beginner students, I use either Faber and Faber's Piano Adventures or Bastien Piano Basics. I also supplement these methods with level-appropriate materials from my private library. For adult students, lessons are tailored to meet the student's interests and purpose. Lesson times are learning times, but I try to make the process fun, with time for creativity and music games. Students are also encouraged to bring in music that they want to learn, which gives me additional opportunies to teach each student how to practice. Read More

I was fortunate being exposed to all kinds of music as a high school student in the early 90's. I went to Berklee College of music in Boston, MA from 1996-1997.
