I am from a family of musicians and started my music lessons at a young age. I love playing the piano and have accompanied choirs, vocalists, bands, churches, etc. throughout my life. Other than the priceless enjoyment I have gotten out of being able to play the piano, my greatest pleasure has been teaching young and old how to play, appreciate and enjoy the piano instrument. We also work on long-term pieces for festivals and recitals throughout the year if they are interested in playing for those. I strongly encourage them to participate in these, helping them to feel confident and secure in these performances. I have been playing the flute for the past decade, and I have taught part time at a local middle school since my freshman year of college. Ive always wanted to help others become more successful, especially since during my freshman and sophomore years of high school, I did not have a lesson teacher of my own, so I often had to work alone. I started my teaching carreer in 1994, teaching doublebass and bass guitar. Two years later I began offering guitar lessons. In 1998 I offered cello lessons. My passion for teaching has grown over the years, and brought me great pleasure helping beginner students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in learning to successfully play a musical instrument. The child must not be nagged or pushed to practice, this leads to burn out, and or that child may not succeed in the process of learning music. I will teach accordingly to the child's basic interests and desires to learn the instrument. The child will advance if he or she puts effort into the daily lessons of practice which makes the playing better.
