My teaching experiences have been positive, fun, and I've built good relationships with my students. My favorite part about teaching is seeing singers gain confidence in their singing ability and hearing their voices grow. I belive that any learning experience should be fun above all things. I learn a lot from my students, and I encourage them to take risks and opportunities to make them into better musicians. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for the fine arts! Therefore, it’s important that each student progresses at his or her own pace, I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student’s desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. A method I use to encourage my student’s progress is to give them stars for when they work on their assignment; the stars they earn will allow the student to choose a song of their choice that is not from the same genre being studied—this may be a pop song. Voice instruction is every bit about personal growth as it is about learning the instrument. Being able to stand up in front of someone and express something is a vital skill in both professional and personal life. As such, I like to cater lessons very personally for each student. I track each student's progress every week and maintain a manageable workload depending on the amount of practice time each student has. I play electric guitar and studied jazz music degree at Texas State University. I played Rock and some Metal music during my first couple years of guitar learning; however I went into Jazz field in college which also gave me some experience at some Latin music. I'm passionate at overall guitar field; not only play guitar but also involve Luthier field. I had experienced own made electric guitar and played it on stage; and now currently work as a Luthier assistance in a guitar shop to work on guitar repair and guitar build. Read More

For Piano students: I teach from Faber and Faber (age appropriate volumes) and encourage a disciplined home practice routine that includes a practice log and weekly goals. Solo pieces added over time. Performances - even if only an in home recital for a few family members and friends - are encouraged about once a semester. For voice students: I teach very tailored lessons to suit individual goals, even if the goal is just to sing better in the shower. Read More
