I teach from 4 years old to adults, novice to advanced levels. My lessons are totally personalized to meet each student's desire, needs and capability. The pace of the lessons should be adjusted for each student. I review and access each student's understanding and progress in each lesson, and design a personalized assignment and lesson plan for the next lesson. Acknowledging accomplishment makes the student confidence and fuel the student's desire to progress. Read More

For players just starting out, I always start with the Hal Leonard Essential Elements book. It is a good place to learn the notes, as well as how to read music on necessary. I add these two books in as soon as I believe the student is ready. Read More

From there, I try to get them to a point where they can play through a song and hopefully get them to play through a favorite song of theirs. When it comes to advanced students, I ask them what they are looking to learn specifically, that way I can give them what they want and challenge them musically. Read More
