As a solo artist, I have toured the United States extensively, and have performed at festivals in the Caribbean and Denmark. My main goal is to create a vocal balance in the voice. Having a vocal balance is based on a singer's ability to sing with a resting larynx, proper vocal fold adduction and ability to navigate through the bridges evenly, without breaks, or strain. Once the balance has been found, we can then apply these skills to any style of music. For beginning students, around ages 5-9, I start with easy songs, but also teach them how singing works. I like to teach technique, and help students improve in their singing. Once students have grasped the fundamentals of singing, I'll let them start looking at solo repertoire so they can practice for a recital performance. I received my BM in 2013, and I am now working on my MM at the University of Texas at Austin where I study under the direction of baritone David Small. If a student has a grasp of the fundamentals, I work with the basic blues and scales to build a repetoire. For Adults, I like to work with jazz standards as well as H.L.
