I was a music education major, so I was trained to teach. Over the years I have taught piano and voice lessons privately and with contractors for over 9 years. I encourage students to practice consistently, and to also enjoy learning. I teach various styles and most of my experience is with beginners to intermediate students. From there we move on to learning music theory, Open throat technique as well as specific techniques involving the students preferred Genre. During my undergraduate time I was apart of those vocal ensembles and worked closely with professors and students to write, arrange and perform full length vocal compositions. Soon after graduation, I was a full-time musician giving freelance voice lessons, and also teaching jazz voice while an artist in residency at Duke Ellington. During my time at Duke, I continued to perform and record around Washington, DC. This is where I began to be recognized for my talent, and was approached by an independent label who would soon thereafter move me to Atlanta, Ga to pursue my goal of being a full-time artist.
