Instruments: Piano Cello
I base my teaching out of the Schroeder Violoncello Methods for all ages along with the Schroeder 170 cello studes. Along with that I pick pieces that the student will find enjoyable as a means to keep them encouraged. Usually I introduce traditional classical repertoire at the beginning of their second year as the student is usually more comfortable with the instrument at that point. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
For those at a beginner level, I typically start with the basics of breathing, buzzing, embouchure development, scales, basic music theory, and basic instrumental proficiency. I also use the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements book to learn basic solos and melodies. For those at the intermediate levels, I start to incorporate scales, solos, range, and standard trumpet books, such the Arban Conservatory Method, Clarke Technical Studies, and the Iron's Flexibility exercises. I do, however, encourage all my students not to sell themselves short and set high standards for themselves. I acknowledge any and all progress that is made, and encourage my students to be proud of the sound they are making. If you don’t like your voice, then you certainly won’t sing for someone else.
