The first half of a typical voice lesson is spent on vocal warm-ups and vocalises. These consist of scales, arpeggios, vowel unification, breath work, etc. and have been accumulated from many teachers over a variety of traditions. Vocalises are the most important part of a solid vocal technique. The second half of lessons is spent working on repertoire either brought in by the student or assigned by myself. I am a classical and jazz pianist who loves teaching people how to play piano. I graduated from Sonoma State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Jazz studies.
