I began teaching my first piano student when I was 14 years old. I have since enjoyed teaching in many different ways. I've taught private students, homeschool choruses, pre-K-8th grade (using music curriculum that I created), 8th grade science students, large choirs of beautiful angelic children's voices, adult church choirs, youth and adult bands, gospel choirs, reading literacy students,and soldier medicshow to prepare for their responsibilities. Opening up and allowing oneself to be real and show another person your raw self is difficult for both adults and children alike. I'm extremely passionate about making music and enabling others to make music. In 2010, I graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sacred Music. During my time at PC, I sang and accompanied the Presbyterian College Choir, Cantare! I'm a creative and versatile violin/viola instructor who loves working with students of any age! I graduated from UNC Asheville in 2012 with a degree in Violin Performance, where I developed a special passion for chamber music. I currently perform with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra, where I have sat in as Concertmaster occasionally. I also understand that learning piano can get repetitive therefore, my technique is to start with theory, and then to add playing by ear as well as reading the notes.
