These are the fundamentals of piano. Music theory will also be applied as needed to help students learn music appropriately and efficiently. I first try to establish why the student wants to learn their instrument and what artists/bands they are influenced by if any. Although I do try to establish goals for them, these goals are reasonable and attainable. It is important to me that they progress at their own pace and have fun as well. I started teaching in college when I started the ukulele club. I taught group classes once a week for up to 40 students as well as some private lessons. The ukulele is an easy instrument to learn even with no prior musical experience and can be learned at any age. It is a small yet versatile instrument that can be transported easily and won't break the bank to buy. I have a ukulele in every room and I always take one with me when I travel. Read More

For beginner clarinet and bassoon students, I usually start with either the Standard of Excellence or Accent on Achievement method books. More specifically for intermediate or more advanced students I use the J. Weissenborn Method for Bassoon and the H. Klose Method for Clarinet. Once students have progressed, at-level solo repertoire is introduced.
