This includes several bands of my own creation that have toured the region as well as dozens of substitute stints filling in for rock, jazz, blues, and pop groups. I have been told that I am a very energetic and encouraging teacher - I want my students to succeed and to be happy in their singing! I defintely will not stay seated behind the piano for the entire lesson. I like to get up and get involved! I won't ask students to try anything that I won't demonstrate myself first, which I have found usually puts them at ease (this is especially true with children and teens.) I have been a voice student myself for many years, so I know how it feels to be in their shoes, and I try to be as constructive and encouraging as possible while helping them discover their voice. I write songs constantly and have performed hundreds of times as both a solo artist and with bands that I have formed.
