I focus on nurturing a students natural curiosity, while helping them find the tools to pursue their own musical interests. Many of my younger students prefer to use technology to connect with music (learning how songs are recorded, and the theory behind songwriting), but I also work with more serious students to prepare for college auditions, state/regional jazz band, etc. My methods differ depending on a student's own goals, but they generally all will start with a technical exercise, an exercise designed to get the student thinking critically, and an application of the concepts we're learning. Instruments: Flute
I'm a flute teacher interested in educating young flutists as whole musicians, integrating music theory, ear training, eurhythmics, and history where applicable. With a background in music therapy, I have a complex understanding of how music and music learning interact with a person's body, mind, and spirit, and I believe that becoming better musicians can make us better human beings, if we let it. I relish the opportunity to get to know my students and share my knowledge and expertise while being enriched by their lives as well. Read More

As a musician, educator, and researcher, I explore how music serves as a portal to the human experience. From my first garage band to playing at Carnegie Hall, my life as a musician has taken me to concert venues all over the world and through the hallowed halls of some of our most venerable institutions of learning. However, my driving motivation to live a musical life comes from the sharing and exploration of musical knowledge. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
We all have a tendency to be against nature. it is very important to find the right voice teachers for ourselves like finding the right physicians for ourselves who are able to help our problems and to learn about our body by nature. For the selections of song and operatic arias, I let the students select for themselves at first and I will advise them to try out the appropriate selections of song and arias for them to develop their ability to feel comfortable to sing with joy and accomplishments eventually. Instruments: Piano Guitar
I began teaching guitar/piano part-time during my teenage years at a Music School in Northern New Jersey. As of now I have 20+ years of part time musical instruction experience. I mostly travel to students' homes for musical instruction which helps me stress to their parents how very important practice and routine is in musical studies. I teach a mix of classical and modern music as it motivates my students to practice with something they are familiar with. Read More
Instruments: Piano Violin
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Method. I introduce the student to basic instrumental technique on their chosen instrument, whether it be violin or piano. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I try to meet students where they are at and their goals. There is no one size fits all to technique or progress. Some people really want all technique all the time and we talk a lot about alignment and anatomy. Whereas others want to have fun and work on a song for their school show or karaoke. I am here to encourage you and give you the information you need to meet your goals! Read More
