I create a hands on curriculum based on the students musical proficiency. Alongside this structured lesson plan, every student will receive training on proper practicing techniques which help build their sense of guidance, responsibility, and structure. Students will also receive training for embouchure and tone development as well as warm up etudes that cater to the students skill level. There are typically three books that I like to start children off with which include Piano Party, Music for Little Mozart’s, and My First Piano Adventure which are designed for children ages 4-11 years old. These books help children to understand the basics of rhythm, music theory, and activities associated with the two. I generally like to begin my teenage to adult students with the All in One Adult Course series which consists of three levels from easy to beginner intermediate and also combines a mixture of classical and modern music. My teaching experience dates back to my high school years. My piano instructor at the time appreciated my gifts and allowed me to assist with teaching beginner students. I continued to teach throughout my college years and still enjoy teaching today. I encourage regular practice and a consistent schedule. I find that consistency helps with progress and with the development of a passion for making music. I encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. Read More
