I encourage students to be open and ask questions during their lessons. I want to get a clear picture of every student's learning style and interests to help them achieve their goals. I also encourage students to participate in bi-annual recitals which I put on in partnership with other music teachers in Santa Clarita, as performance is an excellent motivator for practice and consistency with lessons. Few students learn quick on the parts of the violin and the bow.I used the violin books on All for Strings by Robert Frost and Kjos music company from San Diego. For young beginners, I like to use Alfreds Basic Piano Library books. The songs inside are simple, fun, and are a great introduction to piano and music theory! For older beginners and more advanced students, Ill use Piano Adventures and The Piano Bench of Classical Music. Ill also throw in a favorite theory and technique book according to students age. My lessons will consist of classical piano training theory, technique, and performance but we can apply this to any piece the student wants to learn! Read More

I believe that every student learns differently and at different levels. I also know that you get out of lessons what you put into them so I require that students practice at home in addition to their weekly lessons.
