My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 5 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my studio for the last 2 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for singing/the instrument. I've also found that a combination of technical exercises and songs that students love can go a long way in helping students enjoy singing/piano/flute and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. From 4th grade to High School graduation, I also recieved NYSSMA awards and scholarships as a flutist. From age 16 to presently I have been a Church organist and choir director. Recently I have been awarded the "Best of 2015" music teacher from Thumbtack. I'd be happy to have a half hour consultation with no obligation. The lessons can be in your home using your own piano or in my piano studio in Copiague . Read More

Studying the piano begins with the basics of theory and technique. I begin with repertoire, of course, right from the start as well! Then, as time goes on, the practice time and concentration develops further and being at the piano for both the enjoyment and learning process becomes an everyday part of one's life! I have recitals and many opportunities for students to perform when they are a part of my studio! Read More

I believe that my style is really flexible. I think that everybody has a different way to learn so my style will vary based on the student. I also believe that the role of the teacher should the one of facilitating the student process but ultimately is the student who should dictate the style and the pace of the lesson. I believe also that listening is a really important part of music learning so I have my student listening to a lot of different music and also I play with them all the time so that they can hear and feel what is it to play together. I have been playing guitar since I was 13. I started playing in bands as soon as I could. When I turned 19, I started to pursue my undergrad in classical guitar performance. My major allowed me to delve into many different styles of music such ranging from classical to popular folk music from South America. While doing my undergrad, I did a lot of private teaching on the side where I was introduced to so many other genres of music. Read More

I realized my true passion was centered around teaching music when I began teaching private piano lessons in high school. By creating a highly inclusive learning environment, where students with a range of abilities and learning styles feel comfortable and confident taking risks, I enable them to perform both beautifully and technically. I believe that each person has the possibility of transforming and developing as musicians - regardless of their starting point. Read More
