I love seeing a student gain an understanding of a concept that had been challenging. In order to accomplish this "aha" moment, I try to learn how the student learns best (visual aids, explanations, listening examples) and use that to help the student. I use popular songs that the student knows to explain concepts that can be challenging. In May of 2016, I graduated from the University of Connecticut holding a bachelors degree in Music. At UConn, I took - and currently take private lessons with Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Rod Nelman. My time at UConn was diversely beneficial, granting me opportunities to perform in operas, musicals, an a capella group, a marching band, and professional-level choirs that have performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall. I spent a semester taking classes with the Neag School of Education, working a teaching clinical in a nearby middle school, and a semester with the School of Business, studying entrepreneurship and managerial/interpersonal behavior. I hold a Master's Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, combined with over twenty years of experience as an Arranger, Music Consultant, Vocal Coach, Technical Supervisor, Piano Teacher and Accompanist. During my undergraduate career at Western Connecticut State University I studied and appeared with many great performing artists including the late Skitch Henderson, Ksenia Nosikova, William Braun, and composer Joseph Schwantner. I also attended Five Towns College and studied Jazz / Commercial music. I started performing in groups at age 20. I worked with original acts and a variety of cover bands . I am a diverse musician and has played everything from heavy metal, hard-rock, pop-rock, funk, pop, mow town and classical music. She infuses her classical training with all of these styles.
