In 2011, I accepted the position of Visual Caption Head with Weber State Indoor Percussion and helped them win back to back Outstanding Visual Caption awards at the Intermountain Percussion Association Championships. I have been fortunate enough in my young career to have performed across the world in countries including the U.S., Sweden, Germany, England, Scotland, and Canada. I have even had the opportunity to tour to NYC with the Eastman Philharmonia and Renee Fleming to Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center. During my time as a freelancer in London and Boston, I have performed with a variety of ensembles ranging from brass bands, mixed brass ensembles, chamber orchestra, contemporary chamber ensembles, and full orchestra. I'm receiving my Master Degree in trumpet performance at Brigham Young University. I received my undergraduate degree in music education from Stephen F. Austin State University. I'm well versed in many different styles of music including jazz, rock, and classical. Teaching trumpet is my favorite passion and I take extreme pride in watching my students grow through lessons. I'm a quietly passionate instructor motivated by my love of music and my students. In 2016, I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a Minor in Music. As an undergrad, I often found my love of music creeping into my major coursework-- including my thesis! I've loved practicing and performing for over a decade (which is also more than half of my life!). From receiving my very first "Band Student of the Month" award in the fifth grade to helping soon-to-be-fifth graders achieve that goal themselves, I cannot express how much I love this instrument and the opportunities it has provided.
