I employ a very eclectic, rotating repetoire. For beginning violin students, I use the Suzuki method of ear-training, however I am not married to that curriculum. I prefer to use beginning Suzuki materials in tandem with standard American folk and pop music, in accordance to the student's interests. Many of my students have different goals; some want to learn for pleasure, others need preparation for an audition, or individuals want refresher sessions for upcoming performances or events. As I entered high school, I decided to become moreactive and take leadership in the ensembles. I became the Concert Mistress of the symphonic and string orchestra and held onto my first chair until graduation. I also participated in the San Jose Philharmonic Orchestra, as first violinist. I was also a first violinist of the Korean American Music Supporters Association (KAMSA), performing a concert at the Disney Concert Hall. Since 1997, I have won countless awards from CWC Annual Music Competitions, California Music Education Association, KTVN Bay Area Annual Music Competitions, Prospect-Westmont String Orchestra voted Most Outstanding Instrumentalist, and received all 10 levels in both piano and violin in Certificate of Merit (CM) Tests.I moved to San Diego to study Music Performance at University of California-San Diego. I started learning the violin with a private tutor when I was 12 years old and then subsequently continued my instruction at the Tehran Conservatory of Music's nightly program. I ultimately completed my undergraduate studies in music at the University of Tehran with a Bachelor's degree in musicology, while I was simultaneously pursuing advanced studies in the violin with the goal of becoming a virtuoso. I try to always stay positive with young students but at the same time, push them to give their best effort on their instrument.
